They said a women's serving sneaker shop would never work. They told us we couldn't have full time jobs and build a company. They called our years of experience & qualifications cheating. They told us we didn't have what it takes.
Like any woman trying to navigate spaces & places that aren’t built for them, we’ve dealt with it all. Gaslighting, sexism, ageism, harassment, malicious & targeted behaviours. With every move we made, they had a counter move to try and break us.
Now here we are, about to release our first sneaker collab ever on our 4 year anniversary (11.20.2024) knowing that we did it our way, every step of the way.
The Makeway x Nike Party-6000 is our love letter to the community, TO Y’ALL. This shop has always belonged to you & this sneaker is no different. Thank you for being part of this journey - you proved that a shop like Makeway can not only work, but can flourish.
